How to install Form Timer
Form Timer installs once on your Google account and then works on every form you own. The whole process takes about two minutes and requires no technical setup.
-
Open the Marketplace listing
Go to the Timer for Google Forms listing on the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install. Make sure you are signed in with the Google account you use to create forms; add-ons are tied to the account, not the browser.
-
Approve the permissions
Google shows the access the add-on needs to run timers on your forms and write timing data to your spreadsheets. Review the list and click Allow. School and company accounts occasionally restrict Marketplace installs; if the Install button is grayed out, ask your Workspace admin to allow the add-on for your domain.
-
Open a form and find the add-on
Open any Google Form you own, click the puzzle-piece icon in the top toolbar, and choose Form Timer. The first launch may take a few seconds while Google activates the add-on.
-
Set up your first timer
The Form Timer panel opens inside the Forms editor. Set a duration, save, and submit a test response yourself to see the countdown exactly as your respondents will.
